In the past graphic design has always been considered a subordinated form of design, even if it affected (together with communication design) people's perception of world; graphics influenced (and still does) the history of Italian design.
The fifth edition of the Triennale Design Museum shows the importance of graphics in the pillars of Italian culture such as fashion, food industry and politics, whose layout sets letters, books, magazines, advertising, packaging, visual identity, signs and icons, film and video. The exhibition's aim is to praise the heroes of Italian graphics, the intellectual-printer genius, and the different roles that graphics has played during the years.
